Required Courses by Program Phase

The UW School of Dentistry curriculum contains four program phases:

• Foundations – knowledge fundamental to the development of clinical skills
• Pre-clinical – courses offering simulation of clinical skills
• Clerkships (Third Year) – specialty-focused practice of clinical skills
• General Practice ( Fourth Year) – comprehensive patient care in the dental school setting
