Application Process 2024
Please submit the following materials by 11:59 p.m., March 1st 2024, to dentres@uw.edu with student’s name in the subject line:
- Research application. Work with your mentor to prepare the application. Use the 2024 4th Year Research Track application (PDF).
Up to $500 may be requested for research expenses - Also (by March 1st), Ensure you are in good academic standing
- Have no outstanding incompletes
Research Advisory Committee review and possible proposal revisions/review during the month of March. Notification by the end of the month.
Program components
- Research work with mentor: 11 weeks effort over the course of April – December 2024 (7 credits: C/NC). Credits should be registered for in the appropriate quarter based on the timeline created with the mentor.
- Encouraged to use non-clinic selective time throughout the rest of the year to complete project and related projects (paper, poster, abstract)
- Bi-weekly summer brown bag on topics related to research and research careers (e.g., publication, grant preparation, academic careers), if the group desires
- Submission of abstract and participation in Research Day Poster Session (TBD January 2025)
- Research report due December 15, 2024
