Individuals selected for the interview/skills testing phase of the application process will be notified upon completion of file review and secondary application; which has been requested of selected applicants.
There will be a three day skills/interview session. Applicants selected for interview will be notified as early as possible to accommodate payment of bench testing fees and ease in travel.
These sessions will consist of an orientation to the dental school, interviews with selected faculty, and dental skills psychomotor assessments.
Entering students will be selected from those individuals who present for interviews and skills testing. A nonrefundable dental skills testing fee is required of applicants invited for this phase of the UWIDDS admissions process. This fee is not applied toward tuition or other fees and is payable at the time of acceptance for the interview.
The candidates will be required to perform restorative, endodontic and fixed prosthodontic procedures on manikin and plastic teeth and a written case based exam. Requirements will be communicated to the candidates beforehand. All hand instruments, hand pieces, plastic teeth and study models will be provided. The end result will be graded blindly as in our regular courses and will be part of the basis for acceptance.
