The Oral Radiology Service at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle provides production and interpretation of radiographic images.
Oral radiology is the specialty of dentistry and discipline of radiology concerned with the production and interpretation of radiographic images, including CT and MRI scans that are used for the diagnosis and management of diseases, disorders and conditions of the mouth, face and jaws.
The School of Dentistry, Oral Radiology Service, is provided by UW Faculty who are also American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR) certified specialists. These Faculty work in conjunction with the Residents in the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology residency program to provide radiographic interpretation services to external providers.
To refer an image or CBCT volume for interpretation, please call 206-616-6061 or email uwomr@uw.edu to request access to our HIPAA compliant email server. This server allows for secure upload of patient images and Interpretation Request Form (PDF) as well as receipt of completed interpretation reports.
All radiographic interpretations are reviewed by an ABOMR Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist. Please allow 3-4 business days for all reports. If the request is urgent, please call 206-616-6061.
Payment for the Image Reading Service is the sole responsibility of the referring provider. UW Oral Radiology does not bill patients or take insurance. Invoices for services rendered are emailed to the referring provider within 4-8 weeks of sending the interpretation report. A mailed invoice may be requested if preferred. Fees are $100 for CBCT and $70 for 2D image reports. The CDT code referring providers may use to bill patients/insurance for charges incurred using our service is D0391 Interpretation of diagnostic image by a practitioner not associated with capture of the image, including report. To refer a patient for imaging at our radiology clinic, you may use your own letterhead, or use our Image Acquisition Request Form (PDF). We can provide same day imaging during normal business hours.
