Celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science
February 11, 2026 - Wednesday, Feb. 11, is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Established by the United Nations, the day of celebration is meant to recognize that full and equal access to and participation in science, technology and innovation for women and girls of all ages is imperative for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

Edgar Gomez Receives Latino Center for Health Fellowship
February 10, 2026 - Fourth-year dental student Edgar Gomez has been selected as one of the UW Latino Center for Health’s (LCH) 15 recipients of the 2026 Phyllis Gutiérrez-Kenney Graduate Student Scholars Fellowship.

Mark Yang, Sydney Kim Take First Place at 2026 Research Day
February 6, 2026 - Mark Yang and Sydney Kim each took first place in the Dental Predoctoral Oral Presentation and Graduate Trainee Oral Presentation competitions, respectively, at the 2026 UW School of Dentistry Research Day last week.
