OS 672

Intravenous Sedation – Selective

Course Director: Dr. O. Ross Beirne
Credits: 1-2
Quarter/Yr of Program: Winter, Spring / 4

Course Overview

PLEASE NOTE: OS 661 Elements of Moderate Sedation, is a prerequisite for this course.

This course is primarily intended for the GPRs and the residents/graduate students in Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics and Oral Medicine. Given the schedules and autumn requirements of the target audience, OS 661, the prerequisite course for OS 672, offers autumn quarter lecture dates which vary every year. Students should check OS 661’s registration information when the course is offered for details of the lecture dates and all related information. The determination of how many quarters OS 672 will be offered depends upon the number of eligible students interested in pursuing the course.  Dr. Ross Beirne, current Director of OS 672 and its prerequisite course OS 661, has not imposed a registration limit on either course, but those interested must obtain his written permission to register for both.

Course Expectations

Fourth year predoctoral dental students interested in taking OS 661 are welcome to do so, but they must attend at least 90% of all lectures if their intent is to follow-up with OS 672.
