Together with partnering schools in the ACDE (Association for Continuing Dental Education), the University of Washington Office of Continuing Dental Education is offering a Travel & Learn experience to the South of France plus the opportunity to earn 11 CDE hours on the topic of Oral Pathology, presented by Dr. Bryan Trump (no family affiliation in case you’re wondering) of the University of Utah School of Dentistry. Course Description

This three-part presentation will cover some of the more common oral soft tissue and radiographic lesions seen in dental offices. Proper terminology will be reviewed, and differential diagnoses will be discussed. This is intended to be an interactive course involving problem-solving and critical thinking.

Part 1: Oral Pathology Made Easy! Focus On the Most Common and Classics

  • Learn and review current terminology used in oral pathology.
  • Recognize normal variations from normal and abnormal soft tissue entities commonly found in the oral and maxillofacial region.

Part 2: Radiographic Pathology: Not Everything Is Black and White, But Some Things Are!

  • Recognize normal variations from normal and abnormal radiographic entities commonly found in the oral and maxillofacial region.

Part 3: Oral Pathology Potpourri, What You Could See and Smell

  • Discuss different treatment cases and their outcomes.
  • Learn biopsy principles to obtain the best possible outcomes for you and your patients.
  • Discuss various biopsy techniques to obtain optimal diagnostic samples.

Instructor

Dr. Bryan TrumpBryan Trump is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologist and full-time Associate Professor at The University of Utah School of Dentistry. Bryan grew up in a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Weber State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. His DDS is from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, and he completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology Residency as well as a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry. He has established a clinical referral center focused on oral medicine at the dental school and directs Utah’s first and only oral pathology biopsy service. His laboratory serves dentists throughout the Intermountain West.

$5995 per person for land travel and hotel, based on double occupancy
