Course Description

Many of us have confided in others during dark times, and vice versa. But it can feel awkward, if not downright frightening, not knowing what to do when a loved one or a peer shows suicide warning signs. Developed by Forefront, the five simple and effective Forefront Suicide Prevention LEARN® steps empower individuals to help others move in the direction of hope, recovery, and survival. This training, the Advanced LEARN Saves Lives for Dental Professionals, includes discussion of protective and risk factors, the emergence of suicidal ideation, the importance of frank conversation about suicide and means safety, and using the LEARN skills in the setting of a dental practice. Participants have an important opportunity to practice the LEARN skills.
