Impacts of technological evolution on the pillars of endodontic success – A critical analysis based on scientific evidence

Course Objectives

The main objective of the lecture is to propose an evidenced-based reflection on the impacts of technological evolution on the pillars of endodontic success. For that, the following points will be addressed:

  • Basic concepts of Endodontics, including basic definitions of endodontic success.
  • Pillars of endodontic success.
  • Technology versus endodontic prognosis.
  • Critical analysis concerning endodontic success.

Instructor

Dr. Ricardo MachadoRicardo Machado joined the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry as a Clinical Associate Professor after 19 years in private practice and teaching in Brazil. After graduating from the University of Vale do Itajaí – UNIVALI, Itajaí, Santa Catarina, Brazil, in 2004, he completed his Specialization/Residency Course in Endodontics at the Londrina State University UEL, Londrina, Paraná, Brazil, in 2007. In 2009, he earned his Master of Science at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná – PUC/PR, Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, and in 2015, he earned his PhD at the School of Dentistry of the University of São Paulo – FORP/USP, Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil. In 2019, Dr. Ricardo Machado returned to the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná – PUC/PR, Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, to attend his Post-Doctoral Stage. Dr. Ricardo Machado has been acting as a reviewer of important Journals, such as General Dentistry, Iranian Endodontic Journal, European Endodontic Journal, Brazilian Dental Journal, Microscopy Research & Technique, Australian Endodontic Journal, Clinical Oral Investigations, International Journal of Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics, European Journal of Dentistry, Journal of Conservative Dentistry, and Odontology. Dr. Ricardo Machado is also the associate editor of BMC Oral Health and Scientific Reports.
