Course Description
The seminar will introduce the attendees to the benefits of “Fluorescence Enhanced Theragnosis” in daily clinical practice and elaborate on its application in the different specialties from cariology to periodontology and implantology, from restorative to oral surgery and pathology. Improvement in almost any oral (visual) diagnosis is complemented by visual treatment guidance to visual identification of treatment goal achievement transforming clinics from “guesswork” into reliable, documentable, evidence-based oral healthcare.
Course Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
- Understand the limitations of current visual oral diagnosis and its radical transformation via fluorescence.
- Learn the practical most relevant applications of fluorescence in daily clinical practice.
- Learn and understand the addition of fluorescence visualization to support the transformation of any clinical intervention into a reliable, time-saving minimally invasive procedure.
- Understand the immediate impact of fluorescence on long-term treatment outcomes, patient communication/motivation, and general healthcare.
Instructor
Liviu Steier graduated in 1982 from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila Dental School, Bucharest, Romania. He received his PhD in Dentistry (Dr. med. dent.) in 1983. He holds the following Specialty Certifications: Specialist in Prosthodontics and Material Science; Specialist in Endodontics, Certified Dentist with a Special Interest in Dental Implantology, Certified expert witness. He acted/acts as Visiting Professor at The University of Florence, School of Dental Medicine, Italy; Clinical and Course Director at Warwick University- Coventry, England/ Course Director University of Manchester, England. Visiting Professor Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine Boston, MA/USA; Lecturer, University of Cologne, Germany, Lecturer University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany.
He currently acts as Adj. Assoc. Professor for the University of Pennsylvania, Division of Restorative Dentistry; Adj. Visiting Prof. Saveetha Dental College/India.
