Course Description

The technology behind digitally fabricated dentures is advancing quickly. Incorporating digital dentures into practice is a great way to expedite the complete denture process for clinicians and patients and to make them more enjoyable for everyone. This overview will briefly discuss the current state of digital dentures, including software options, milling and printing, and easy-to-incorporate workflows – with or without an in-office scanner.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Learn the various entry points and options for the digital workflow
  • Recognize the differences and indications for milling and printing
  • Be familiar with the benefits and limitations of digital dentures

Instructor

Dr. Wendy AuClair ClarkDr. Wendy AuClair Clark completed her undergraduate training at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA and then earned her doctoral degree from the Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI. She then earned her master’s degree in clinical dentistry and certificate in post-graduate Prosthodontics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. She practiced prosthodontics for 7 years with Team Atlanta (Goldstein, Garber & Salama). She was named a “Leader in Continuing Education” by Dentistry Today in 2017-2021 and presents on a wide range of prosthodontic topics. Currently, she is full-time faculty at the University of North Carolina, where she serves as the Director of Pre-doctoral Removable Prosthodontics. She has published articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests and activities are focused mostly on removable prosthodontics (digital and conventional) and digital dentistry and its applications in education and clinical dentistry.
