Course Description:
Calling all dentists, hygienists, assistants, family members, and friends! Join us for an exciting course where you can choose your ideal camera style and use it for stunning photos—whether in the dental office or in everyday life. Elevate your photography skills, master the art of selecting and using the right equipment for clinical dental photography, and enhance your multimedia presentations. Stay ahead with the latest digital photo technology and cutting-edge photography techniques. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to capture life’s moments beautifully!
The morning portion of this class can be accessed as a live webinar or in person. The afternoon workshop will in-person only, and will provide attendees with the opportunity to enhance and refine the information shared in the morning, and to receive feedback on how they might be able to improve their dental photography skills.
Course Objectives:
As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:
- Explain basic photography principles and terminology
- Choose the best cost-effective photography system needed
- Understand the fundamentals for intra-oral photography, including how to make professional clinical photos
- Practice and refine photographic techniques for better intra-oral, extra-oral, and laboratory comparison photos
- Demonstrate current digital photo technology and increase their capacity to assimilate new information for latest updates
Workshop – Limited to 20 participants
The lab session will allow the participant first-hand exposure and experience to digital dental equipment. After practicing the techniques taught in the morning session, participants will practice taking intra- and extra-oral images on each other – and take turns being patient, assistant and the photographer.
Required Lab Equipment
Please bring mirrors, retractors and a rubber mixing bowl (for warm water to heat the mirrors). If you have a digital camera capable of intra-oral, macro photography that you would like to practice with, please bring it with you. Please make sure that it is in good working condition (charged batteries, memory cards, etc.). We will have some camera equipment available for those who do not have one to bring. If you have any questions about your camera’s dental capabilities email Dr. Wang at: icwang@uw.edu.
