Course Description
This presentation explores the latest advancements in digital dentistry, focusing on intraoral scanning techniques, quality assessment, and effective communication with dental labs. Additionally, it delves into innovative applications in sports dentistry and implant-protected occlusion to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Course Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe advanced intraoral scanning techniques and their impact on digital impressions.
- Assess the quality and accuracy of intraoral scans using established evaluation criteria.
- Explain the components of effective digital lab workflows and communication strategies for predictable outcomes.
- Identify the latest innovations in sports dentistry and their applications for enhancing athletic performance and protection.
- Discuss strategies for implant-protected occlusion and the role of digital planning in achieving successful clinical outcomes.
Instructor
Leonardo Nassani obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from McGill University Faculty of Dentistry, Montreal, Canada. He then successfully completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. Dr. Nassani obtained a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Healthcare Management (MBA) from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, OH.
Dr. Nassani is the Assistant Dean for Digital Dentistry and Advanced Technology and serves as a member of several college committees, including the Digital Dentistry Initiative Committee. As an Operative Dentistry course director, Dr. Nassani contributes to curriculum development for restorative and prosthodontics courses and directs didactic teaching in operative digital dentistry. Dr. Nassani is the Chair of Continuing Education at the Quebec Academy of General Dentistry, Vice-Chair of the Ohio Dental Association Education and Licensure Committee, and member of the Columbus Dental Society Executive Committee.
