Background
Dr. Theresa Cheng received her dental degree from Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan and her General Practice Residency in Chang Gung Hospital. She received her Certificate in Periodontics from University of Washington in 1985. She opened her private practice in Issaquah, Washington in 1990, and retired from practice in 2014. Dr. Cheng teaches in the Graduate Periodontics clinic and the Predoc dental clinics since 2015. She was a Board member of the Washington State Dental Quality Commission from 2000 – 2004.
Professional Interests
Dr. Cheng had provided volunteer dental services in her office, Medical Teams International and other events. She has a particular interest in dental access for combat veterans and is the Founder of the non-profit, Everyone For Veterans, which connects civilians nationally to give back to low-income combat veterans in their communities. She is the recipient of the 2017 Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs Outstanding Service to Veterans Award.
