Runners will again raise funds for access to dental care

UW dental students will once again raise funds to support community outreach programs by entering a team in Seattle’s Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon this year.

The team, which seeks to raise at least $5,000 in donations to the School of Dentistry’s Access to Dental Care fund, will compete in the annual event on June 23. The fund supports activities such as the Homeless Women’s Shelter dental care project, Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club Washington Oral Health Foundation collaboration, and Train the Trainer Oral Health Education program. The team is organized under the auspices of the School’s Office of Educational Partnerships and Diversity, which is part of the Student Services Office.

Donations to the fund are welcome before or after the event at this link, or contact Heidi Sarff (Class of 2015) at heidis4@u.washington.edu.

The team also still welcomes runners who would like to participate and help raise funds for Access to Dental Care — students, faculty, staff, community dentists and their staff and anyone else who is interested. To join the team, contact Heidi Sarff.
