Vanessa Chrepa , DDS, MS

Assistant Professor, Endodontics

Vanessa Chrepa, DDS, MS received her DDS from the University of Athens, Greece. In 2014, she received her Certificate and Master’s Degree in Endodontics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), Texas and subsequently joined the faculty in the same department as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. Dr. Chrepa currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Endodontics at University of Washington. Dr. Chrepa is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics

Dr. Chrepa is engaged in clinical and didactic teaching of undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and is actively involved in clinical and translational research. In 2014, she was the recipient of the 2014 Young Investigator Prize for innovation by the IADR Pulp Biology and Regeneration Group for her work on clinical delivery of apical papilla mesenchymal stem cells into root canals of mature teeth. Dr. Chrepa’s current research work is funded by the American Association of Endodontics Foundation (AAEF) to conduct a large-scale randomized clinical trial on the impact of apical size preparation on root canal treatment success and microbiological parameters. Chrepa et al. received an AAEF award for the highest scoring proposal for this study and the preliminary results of the study were presented by her mentee, Dr. Chu at the Annual meeting of the American Academy of Endodontics where they were the recipients of the AAE/Dentsply Resident award.

Dr. Chrepa serves in the Editorial Review board of many dental journals, including the Journal of Endodontics and has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Research Interests

Her current research focuses on preclinical and clinical studies on the field of regenerative Endodontics.
