Dr. Anderson holds a B.A. (1960) and a B.S. (1961) from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, as well as a D.D.S. from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Dr. Anderson’s research interests are in the area of Operative Dentistry.

Dr. Anderson maintains a private practice in Kent, WA. He is currently a Lecturer, Course Director in Restorative Dentistry and a WREB Preparatory Course Director at the University of Washington. In addition to teaching, he is also active in acquiring resources for endowments which improve faculty and student development.

Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Academy of Gold Foil Operators, the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the Seattle District Dental Society, the Washington State Dental Association, a Life Member of the American Dental Association, a Life Member of the Dean’s Club in the University of Washington School of Dentistry, and has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the President’s Club at the University of Washington. He is a member of the Academy of Operative Dentistry (President, 1988-89), Associated Ferrier Study Clubs (President, 1981-82), the George Ellsperman Gold Foil Seminar (President, 1972-73), and the University of Washington Dental Alumni Association (President, 1996).

Dr. Anderson has received many professional and academic honors in his career, including: Omicrom Kappa Upsilon, several Outstanding Teacher Awards, was named Commencement Speaker by the class of 1984, and received a Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1994 from the Dental Alumni Association. He has also been awarded Fellowships by the American College of Dentists (1979), the International College of Dentists (1982) and the Academy of Dentistry International (1982). In 1997 he received an Award of Excellence from the Academy of Operative Dentistry. In 1998 he was awarded the University of Washington School of Dentistry Dean’s Club Award, and in 2001 he received the International College of Dentists Distinguished Fellow Award. The American Academy of Gold Foil Operators awarded him their highest honor, the Distinguished Member Award. He is a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Dr. Anderson was Managing Editor of the journal Operative Dentistry from 1974-1999.

He is the author of several publications and essays, relating primarily to his work in Operative Dentistry.

Dr. Anderson interests include his family, church and a great deal of community involvement. He has a keen interest in exotic and classic cars, and has won several awards for his efforts in this area.
