Dr. Persson graduated and received her dental degree from the University of Lund, Sweden in 1969. She also completed post-graduated training in Restorative Dentistry in 1981 at the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada. Dr. Persson pursued private practice in general dentistry from 1969 – 1985 in Malmo, Sweden and Ulricehamn, Sweden, with one year of general dentistry in public health in Ulricehamn, Sweden from 1981 – 1982.
In 1989, Dr. Persson received her MSD and Certificate in Oral Medicine from the University of Washington. She completed the Dental Education in Care of Persons with Disabilities (DECOD) training program in 1989, the Advanced DECOD training program in 1991at the University of Washington, and the Dental Health Care in Nursing Homes program in 1993 at the University of Colorado.
Since 1991, Dr. Persson has served on the clinical faculty in the Department of Oral Medicine.
