Molly Melbye, DDS, MPH

Dr. Molly Melbye is currently an NRSA Post-Doctoral Senior Fellow in the department of Oral Health Sciences, School of Dentistry. Dr. Melbye received her BA in Business Administration (1998), Doctor of Dental Surgery (2006), and Master of Public Health (2012) from the University of Washington. Her clinical practice experience includes both community health and private practice dentistry.
Funded by the T90 Interdisciplinary Oral Health Research training grant, Dr. Melbye is pursuing an academic career in research. Her research interests include oral health and access to dental care for children in foster care and other vulnerable pediatric populations, and public health promotion of water fluoridation.
Dr. Melbye maintains her clinical practice one day a week at the Dental Fears Research Clinic at the School of Dentistry, where she treats fearful dental patients since 2009. She also is an attending dentist to undergraduate dental students at the quarterly free dental clinic in Longview, Washington, where she has volunteered regularly since 2000.
